We are seeking a highly motivated Academic Researcher to join our team at HR Genie. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Political Studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as contributing to the revitalization of the Humanities department.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Political Science, with a focus on African political economy. They will be expected to teach in the areas of African economy and gender, and demonstrate a growing research and/or teaching focus in this broad area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Political Studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Contributing to curriculum transformation and development
  • Supervising postgraduate research in Political and Conflict Studies
  • Undertaking innovative research that expands knowledge foundations of Political and Conflict Studies
  • Actively participating in engagement within the University and wider community
  • Undertaking administrative duties within the Political and Conflict Studies programme

Requirements:

  • MA in Political Studies or Conflict Management/Resolution
  • Experience of at least 1 year in facilitating learning or related research-driven work at higher education institution
  • Demonstrable potential to conduct high-level research that can produce publications in accredited scholarly journals

What We Offer:

  • An estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $100,000, depending on qualifications and experience
