At Kontak Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Healthcare Operations Lead to join our team in a permanent position. Based on the current market conditions in SA, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Tanzania, we estimate the salary for this role to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong medical background (MD, MBChB, or PhD) and extensive clinical research experience. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic leadership, ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, and drive operational excellence in clinical research and healthcare management.

This is a remote position for applicants residing in Africa, with an eventual requirement to relocate to the specific regional office (e.g., Zimbabwe, Rwanda, or Tanzania). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading regional clinical research initiatives, ensuring they meet ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic goals, aligning with the organization's mission.
  • Provide visionary leadership to foster innovation and operational excellence.
  • Lead regional clinical research initiatives, ensuring they meet ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation, budget management, and process improvements.
  • Manage the organization's budget, identifying funding opportunities and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and research institutions.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local and international legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years in clinical research, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • A strong knowledge of clinical trial design, execution, and regulatory frameworks.
  • A proven track record in strategic leadership, financial management, and team building.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and clinical research regulations in Zimbabwe and internationally.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
