Business Development Steel Sales Specialist

At Sandi Crowther Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Steel Sales Specialist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to excel in a challenging and rewarding role.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled sales professional with expertise in the marketing of structural steel merchant plates and carbon steels. The successful candidate will have a solid track record of specialising in these areas and possess thorough knowledge of steel types and their applications.
Responsibilities- Sales Performance: Identify opportunities to improve sales performance by analysing market trends and competitor activity.
- Quote Preparation: Prepare quotes and proposals for customers, ensuring they meet their requirements and expectations.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor market conditions and competitors to stay ahead of the competition.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers to drive business growth.
- Experience: Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the steel industry.
- Steel Knowledge: Thorough understanding of structural steel merchant plates and carbon steels, including S355JR-AR.
- Cut-to-Size Market: Some experience in the cut-to-size market would be beneficial.
- Client Base: Existing client base within the steel industry would be an advantage.
- Self-Discipline: Self-motivated individual who can work independently and manage their time effectively.
- Persuasive Skills: Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills to win new business and build strong customer relationships.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively, potentially up to 90% of the time.
- Competitive Salary: A competitive salary package, estimated to be around £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
