Job Description

The Reservations Operations Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the G Adventures Reservations team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations across the Southern & East Africa region.

This key position involves working efficiently and effectively to deliver outstanding results, demonstrating attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.

This hybrid role requires spending a minimum number of days in the Cape Base office, providing administrative support to the Global Sales and Base Camp Operations teams, handling last-minute booking requests and changes, and collaborating closely with Tour Ops and CEO teams to ensure smooth tour operations.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the G Adventures brand and other client brands effectively throughout the region
  • Provide administrative support for the Global Sales and Base Camp Operations teams
  • Ensure efficient handling of last-minute booking requests and changes
  • Work collaboratively with Tour Ops and CEO teams to guarantee smooth tour operations
  • Support reservations & Flights manager in negotiating reduced cancellation charges from suppliers
  • Assist finance department with invoice queries and related tasks
  • Collaborate with buying & contracting team to maintain accurate rates and pricing on internal systems

Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum 1+ years experience in the travel industry
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Familiarity with travel industry practices and excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail, well-organized, and excellent time management skills
  • Active listening, problem-solving, and complaint resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or Google Suite equivalents
  • Strong telephone skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a team player, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
