Senior Account Manager Role

Cape Town, South Africa (remote work)

We seek a seasoned Senior Account Manager to build lasting client relationships and drive growth opportunities across Africa, focusing on dry flavours and seasonings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans for key customers, gaining approval from management and internal stakeholders.
  • Establish strong working relationships with customers at all levels, coordinating activities with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Technical, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Prioritize, manage, and grow opportunities within an innovation funnel, collaborating with Sales Operations and Business Unit functions to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Accurately contribute to volume/sales forecasts based on customer input, business intelligence, analysis, and other factors.
  • Implement customer pricing strategies to maximize profits.
  • Be a critical contact for McCormick, driving customer penetration through innovation and proactive customer intimacy.
  • Participate in flavour industry-related events and associations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • BA in Business, Food Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years sales experience, preferably in FMCG with international companies.
  • South Africa B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP) experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of product technical aspects, including nomenclature, applicability, and substitution choices.
  • Valid Code EB driver's license for travel to customer and business meetings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels and functions.
  • Demonstrable critical thinking skills and business acumen.
  • Structured, organized, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven project management skills in sales cycles from six weeks to eighteen months.
  • Flexible to change and adapt to new initiatives.
