Senior Lecturer in Building and Human Settlements Development

The Senior Lecturer in Building and Human Settlements Development will be responsible for creating, developing, and facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and skills by learners at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. This includes participating in, contributing to, conducting, and leading research and innovation, as well as developing research capacity and supervising postgraduate students.
Key Responsibilities:- Learning and Teaching:
- Teaching, instruction, guidance, and facilitation
- Assisting and supporting students in their learning
- Refining and developing new learning programs and modules
- Professional development of teaching practice and reflecting on the impact of teaching practices on student learning
- Research and Creative Works:
- Creation of new knowledge through own research
- Contribution to Departmental research output in accredited journals
- Supervising postgraduate students
- Working on the frontiers of a discipline to advance understanding
- Bringing new and interdisciplinary knowledge together to understand and solve problems
- Academic Engagement:
- Actively contributing to the work of the university (mentoring, planning, governance, leadership, committee membership, administration)
- Using professional expertise and applying knowledge to advance understanding and solve problems (external service), preferably in partnership with communities/organizations
- For Senior Lecturer:
- A relevant Doctoral degree and, where appropriate, professional registration and four years academic or related experience
- Peer-reviewed accredited publications
- Experience in University level teaching and research
- Experience in supervising and successfully completed Honours, Masters, and/or doctoral candidates
- Professional registration or eligible for professional registration
