Job Title: Senior Academic Lecturer in Social Development

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Academic Lecturer in Social Development to join our team at HR Genie. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating learning in various social development professions, supervising research at under- and postgraduate levels, and contributing to departmental administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver academic programs in Social Development, ensuring comprehensive coverage of theoretical concepts, skills, and practice competencies.
  • Supervise research projects at under- and postgraduate levels, providing guidance and support to students as they conduct their research.
  • Contribute to departmental administration, participating in academic and operational activities that promote the growth and development of the department.
  • Engage with students, staff, and the wider community through teaching, research, and service activities.
  • Maintain currency with developments in the field of Social Development, applying this knowledge to enhance teaching, research, and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in lecturing Social Work at under- and postgraduate levels.
  • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
  • Proven track record of publishing journal articles in DHET-accredited journals and presenting research findings at conferences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Estimated Salary: R600,000 - R800,000 per annum.
