About the RoleThe core purpose of this position is to create, develop, and facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills by learners at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be responsible for creating new learning programs and modules, refining teaching practices, and reflecting on their impact on student learning.
This role involves participation in research and innovation, developing research capacity, conducting postgraduate supervision, and contributing to engagement and service to the community, discipline, and profession.
Key Performance Areas- Learning and Teaching: Teaching, instruction, guidance, and facilitation; assisting and supporting students in their learning; refining and developing new learning programs and modules; professional development of teaching practice and reflecting on its impact on student learning.
- Research and Creative Works: Creation of new knowledge through own research; contributing to Departmental research output; supervising postgraduate students; working on the frontiers of a discipline to advance understanding; bringing new and interdisciplinary knowledge together to understand and solve problems.
- Academic Engagement: Actively contributing to the work of the university (mentoring, planning, governance, leadership, committee membership, administration); using professional expertise and applying knowledge to advance understanding and solve problems (external service).
To be considered for this appointment, candidates should have a relevant Doctoral degree and four years of academic or related experience. They must also show evidence of peer-reviewed accredited publications, experience in University level teaching and research, and experience in supervising and successfully completed Honours, Masters, and/or doctoral candidates.
A strong track record of Quantity Surveying, Housing Human Settlement Development and Management related experience and networking is highly desirable. Professional registration or eligibility for registration is required.
