Nursing Services Deputy Manager Opportunity in Northern Suburbs Hospital

Jordan HR, a leading recruitment agency, is partnering with a renowned Private Hospital Group to find an exceptional Deputy Nursing Services Manager for one of their hospitals based in the Northern Suburbs.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to assist the Nursing Services Manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing strategic plan. The successful candidate will deputise in the absence of the Nursing Services Manager, attend meetings, and ensure adherence to nursing standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing strategic plan and sub-unit strategic plan.
- Deputise in the absence of the Nursing Services Manager.
- Attend meetings as requested by the Nursing Services Manager.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to nursing standards and policies.
- Assist with staff selection and appointment.
- Implement and monitor employee induction and in-service training.
- Manage staff absenteeism and implement a mentoring system.
- Evaluate job descriptions and scope of practice for staff members.
- Maintain a positive working environment for Continuous Professional Development.
- Liaise with various departments in the multi-disciplinary team.
- Commit to change through resource mobilisation.
- Monitor staffing levels based on acuity levels in departments.
- Manage client expectations according to client services policies.
- Weekly check of Unit Managers' schedules and drug audit reports.
- Analyse incident reports, root cause, interventions, and outcomes.
- Evaluate and manage patient/visitor POS issues and infection control processes.
Salary Estimate: R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Unit Manager.
- Diploma or relevant qualifications in Nursing Administration.
- Post-basic qualification in ICU or Trauma (advantageous).
- Excellent MS Office computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Clocking Systems, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and apply principles of continuous improvement.
