About the Role

As Chief Nursing Services Director at Jordan HR, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the nursing strategy for one of our esteemed hospital clients. Based in the Southern Suburbs, this position offers a unique opportunity to drive excellence in patient care and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Services Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing strategic plan and sub-unit strategic plan.
  • Provide exceptional support and deputise in the absence of the Nursing Services Manager.
  • Maintain open communication channels by attending meetings as requested by the Nursing Services Manager.
  • Ensure seamless implementation and adherence to nursing standards and policies.
  • Contribute to the selection and appointment of staff, ensuring the best fit for our client's needs.
  • Develop and monitor in-service training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff absenteeism and implement strategies to improve attendance.
  • Promote a positive working environment that fosters Continuous Professional Development.
  • Evaluate job descriptions and scope of practice for staff, making necessary adjustments to optimise performance.
  • Liaise closely with various departments within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure cohesive care delivery.
Requirements
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a Unit Manager capacity.
  • Diploma and/or relevant qualifications in Nursing Administration are essential.
  • A post-basic qualification in ICU or Trauma is advantageous.
  • Excellent MS Office computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Clocking Systems.
