The IIE is accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to offer higher education qualifications endorsed by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

IIE Varsity College, Pretoria campus is looking for qualified individuals in the area of Political Studies to enhance the teaching and research capabilities within the Faculty of Management Studies.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this role is to provide effective teaching and facilitation of qualifications, alongside all related academic activities aimed at fostering student engagement and support, ultimately promoting student success and learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching and Facilitation
  • Assessment and Grading
  • Student Support Services

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Arts Honours or Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Political Studies.

Alternatively:

  • Postgraduate Diploma, Master's (MA/MPhil), or Doctorate (PhD/DPhil) in Political Studies.
  • A Master's degree in Applied Humanities or Commerce with a focus on Strategic Innovation, Business Innovation, Innovation Management, Sustainable Business Innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Development Economics, Applied Development Economics, Community Development, Grassroots Innovation, Sociology, Social Development, Social Entrepreneurship, or Social Innovation at the undergraduate level.

  • A relevant NQF 8 qualification in Applied Humanities or Commerce with similar innovation or development economics-related modules at the undergraduate level.

Minimum Professional Experience:

  • Experience in the Political Studies field
  • Prior lecturing experience

Work Environment:

  • This role is classified as an Independent Contractor position.
