Job Title: Customer Service Engineer I

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our IT infrastructure support team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our clients, ensuring seamless resolution of technical issues and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out advanced fault finding on desktops, laptops, and servers, including replacing hard drives, upgrading memory, and logging calls with OEMs for technical support and resolution.
  • Perform a full range of tasks related to hardware support of fixed, mobile, remote, and terminal services devices, including adapting to new hardware and software introductions.
  • Log calls with OEMs for technical support and resolution, and ensure that all equipment and software used are the property of RBCT unless specified and approved.
  • Must be familiar with different hardware and software platforms, including operating systems, networking, virus protection, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, Visio, printers, and more.
  • Carry out upgrades/downgrades to software applications, including Microsoft Office and Windows OS, and install, setup, and configure hardware and software applications.
  • Must be able to perform network fault finding, CISCO switch configurations, port changes, network point repair, making of network cables, and more for day-to-day operations and standby duty.
  • Unlock and reset user profile passwords, assist users with computer-related queries, and install and setup office equipment, including desktops and printers.
  • Provide support services to assist end-users in using Microsoft software at a basic user level, investigate complex problems, document outcomes, and identify solutions.
  • Log all calls using RBCT internal systems, carry out periodic or as-needed hardware and software audits by walkabouts through the plant, and ensure that images are taken of all critical desktops annually.
  • Base images are to be made for desktops and laptops, and you must be able to execute projects and perform a full range of tasks related to the replacement or upgrade of existing hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • All services must be per RBCT specifications, and you must be able to adapt to new hardware and software introductions, including providing training to vendors as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of practical in-service delivery, desktop support, and generalist experience, with basic server support skills.
  • Grade 12, A+, and N+ qualifications, with preferred qualifications including Soft Skills, ITIL, Mobility Support, MCSE, and HP Hardware Certifications.
