Main Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to oversee our company's payroll functions and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
  • You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid on time and accurately.
  • Key areas include preparing and verifying payroll calculations, deductions, bonuses, overtime, and other variable earnings.
  • You will also calculate and process taxes and statutory deductions and contributions in compliance with local laws.
  • Submission of NBCRFLI leave to NBCRFLI is another critical aspect of the role.
  • Capturing of leave for all employees, approval of leave and claims on ESS, and updating of reporting line changes are also essential duties.
  • Sick bonus applications for NBCRFLI employees must be handled with care.
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data is crucial.
  • Updating employee records with new hire, termination, or changes in salary information requires attention to detail.
  • A detailed record of payroll documentation must be maintained, and confidentiality is paramount.
  • Maintaining accurate leave records and following up on outstanding or declined leave applications is vital.
  • Ensuring payroll processes comply with local labor laws and tax regulations is an ongoing responsibility.
  • Collaborating with the Payroll Manager on internal and external audits is also required.
  • Staying updated on tax regulations, labor laws, and other legislative changes relevant to payroll is essential for success.

Requirements:

  • A Matric or senior certification equivalent is necessary.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in payroll, accounting, or a related area is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of payroll systems and familiarity with local labor laws within the Middle East/Africa region is essential.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • The ability to handle confidential information is crucial.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.

Estimated Salary Range: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
