Job Description:

The SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd team requires a dedicated and reliable Technical Support Specialist to join their team. The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks, amongst others:

  • Performing daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized workshop environment
  • Assisting with general workshop duties, including tool maintenance and storage
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Selecting and utilizing appropriate hand tools for various tasks
  • Operating basic power tools and equipment
  • Performing minor welding tasks under supervision
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of workshop safety protocols and procedures
  • Assisting artisans with various tasks and projects as needed

Qualifying Criteria:

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols
  • Ability to handle and operate tools and equipment, including cutting machines
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
  • Strong commitment to adhering to health and safety rules and regulations
