Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our housekeeping and food service team, you will assist the Chief Steward in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the ship.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and other essential items
  • Training, supervising, and scheduling housekeeping and food service staff
  • Overseeing the execution of guest requests and ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution
  • Conducting regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
  • Handling and resolving guest complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintaining and updating records of inventory, expenses, and staff performance
  • Adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations and company policies
  • Assisting in performance evaluations and providing feedback and coaching to team members
  • Assisting with budget planning and cost control measures to optimize departmental expenses
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in hospitality or a related field being a plus
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry or on a cruise ship
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
  • Proficiency in English, with additional languages being a plus
  • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications
