Key Responsibilities

Hexagon PPM is on the lookout for a skilled DevOps Consultant to enhance our Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division.

Collaborate with software development and operations teams to ensure consistent and reliable software releases. This includes: Testing new functionalities. Identifying cloud deployment solutions that may affect the product. Developing automation tools. Standardizing technology stacks. Enhancing operational efficiency. Designing and implementing automation for build, deployment, and configuration management. Creating and testing automation tools for infrastructure provisioning. Evaluating implemented designs and documenting their implications for cloud deployment. Troubleshooting issues that arise during testing to prevent deployment problems. Managing code deployments across various environments. Monitoring performance metrics and devising strategies to enhance automation in infrastructure and application deployment. Actively participating in team activities, including scrum sessions, and contributing to backlog management and task assignments to foster an efficient product development and deployment environment. Advocating for a culture of ownership in the development and deployment process. Supporting test automation efforts and ensuring quality is integrated into deployment practices, including embedding security best practices throughout the development lifecycle. Promoting proactive monitoring and performance optimization, utilizing full-stack service availability and telemetry data to inform operational decisions. Providing technical mentorship and guidance to team members regarding deployment, configuration, and operational processes. Engaging in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for improving product delivery. Seeking feedback from peers during testing phases. Establishing, maintaining, and monitoring various standards and processes. Overseeing daily management and administration of projects. Collaborating with the team on CI and CD tools. Working alongside Cloud DevOps team members to address challenges and share technology trends for a cohesive delivery approach. Assisting in the creation of standards for Cloud Architecture and Deployment in partnership with the Cloud Operations team to ensure integration into software development practices. Aiming to minimize manual tasks through scalable Cloud-native automation. Managing the operational costs associated with software applications in a SaaS environment, ensuring that cost efficiency is a key consideration in design and product development. Adhering to all established best practices and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience in IT/Technology/Operations/Software, with a minimum of 2 years in a DevOps framework. Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments, SQL databases (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, and scripting languages such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, as well as Agile methodologies like Scrum/Kanban/SAFe. Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., ARM, Terraform, Cloud Formation). Awareness of current industry trends and the ability to communicate them effectively. Experience with SecOps and cybersecurity practices is advantageous. Familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Willingness to be on-call and work remotely as required. Ability to travel occasionally (not exceeding 10%).

Desired Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently or collaboratively. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Experience in an agile environment with a CI/CD development process, particularly using Azure DevOps. Proficiency in Python. Experience with Terraform. Familiarity with Puppet. Knowledge of PowerShell. Basic experience with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure.
