The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our cloud-based data manipulation and automation platform. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining the availability of Xceptor as a Service
  • Responding to alerts and troubleshooting issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Implementing changes based on support requests and ensuring seamless service delivery
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in the cloud environment
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Implementing and managing security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data
  • Monitoring resource usage and planning for future capacity needs
  • Developing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures
Key Competencies

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following technical and non-technical skills:

  • Technical skills:
    • Azure PaaS Services, including AKS, App Service, and SQL Server
    • Kubernetes experience or a strong desire to work with Kubernetes
    • Monitoring Stack, including Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo
    • Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, Bicep, or Crossplane
    • Azure DevOps Pipelines
    • GitOps Principles, including tools like ArgoCD, Flux, or similar
    • Programming skills, including C#.NET or similar object-oriented language
  • Non-technical skills:
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent problem-solving ability
    • Good client-centric approach
    • Strong adaptability

Required Education and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree-level education in a numeracy-based subject
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role

Able to work on call rotation for out of hours work.
