Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dentist/Lecturer Grade 1- 3 to join our team at the Department of Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and training students in Endodontics, as well as providing clinical services in our Oral Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Training: Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical training sessions to students in Endodontics, Dental Materials, Basic Restoration Dentistry, and Pedodontics.
  • Clinical Services: Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with Endodontic needs, including managing and treating patients with special healthcare needs.
  • Research and Publication: Conduct research in Endodontics and publish articles in reputable scientific journals.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor students in the clinical wards, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: BChD or equivalent qualification, with a postgraduate qualification in Endodontics being an advantage.
  • Registration: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dentist in the category independent practice.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience post-Community Service, with experience in teaching and training students in Endodontics being essential.
