- Manage and coordinate the development of all approved versions of business and functional specifications for specified applications
- Analyse the business unit's activities and trends and compare analyses against service standards and best practices
- Present findings and work with the Business Analyst Team Leader or Business Unit Manager and other personnel to identify and implement strategies that will address tactical and strategic goals
- Analyse market trends and recommend adjustments and/or capitalising on current trends
- Review, analyse and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including work flow, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer programs
- Review technical documents with IT project staff to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents
- Implement, monitor and control business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability
- Ensure the development, alignment, mapping and implementation of end-to-end processes aligned to the customer journey map
- Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement
- Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy
- Monitor customer feedback reports and align processes to maximise efficiencies
- Conduct quality assurance practises and procedures on end user test plans and other quality assurance assessments
- Design and document work flow ensuring that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT
- Ensure that all documentation accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions
- Advocate the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects; working with the IT project manager to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing
- Analyse discrepancies in service or performance and make recommendations for updates
