Job Title: Skills and Employment Equity Lead

Job Summary:

Omega Human Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Skills and Employment Equity Lead to drive the company's skills development and employment equity strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, facilitating employee development initiatives, and promoting diversity and inclusion through employment equity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Skills Development
  • Develop and implement skills development plans to align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Manage the skills development budget and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Facilitate and manage learnerships, apprenticeships, internships, bursaries, and graduate programs.
  • Manage grant applications and ensure timely follow-ups and approvals.
  • Track and manage training expenses and skills development levies.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and SETA guidelines.
  • Communicate SETA initiatives, grants, and opportunities to the company.
Employment Equity
  • Drive employment equity activities across the company, ensuring alignment with diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Develop and implement employment equity plans, ensuring submission of statutory reports to the Department of Labour.
  • Liaise with the Department of Labour on employment equity matters and maintain accurate BBBEE scorecard spreadsheets.
  • Lead and advocate for initiatives promoting workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Administrative Excellence
  • Maintain documentation related to skills development and employment equity for audit and submission purposes.
  • Analyse data and provide monthly reports through dashboards.
  • E nsure accuracy and readiness for internal and external audits concerning skills development and employment equity.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • P present progress reports to senior leadership and provide updates to the Head of HR and leadership team.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align skills development and employment equity initiatives with business goals.
  • Liaise with SIGNA and other partners for learnerships and BBB-EE purposes.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Submit all required reports accurately and on time to FP&M SETA and the Department of Labour.

Requirements:

  • SDF Certification with FP&M SETA accreditation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in managing projects and driving initiatives from inception to completion within tight deadlines.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Advanced G-suite skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Skills Development Act and ability to implement WSP and ATR plans efficiently.
  • In-depth understanding of Employment Equity regulations and proven experience in managing BBBEE scorecards and diversity initiatives.
  • Strong ability to coach and consult across all levels, driving strategic solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders within a matrix organisation.
