Job Title: Head of Human Resources

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Head of Human Resources to spearhead our HR Division, drive strategic initiatives, and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Team Management: Lead and manage the HR team, comprising HR Officer, Payroll Administrator, and HR Administrator, to ensure seamless execution of HR functions.
  • Company Culture: Conduct a thorough analysis of our company culture and collaborate with senior management to implement changes that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations by addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and conflicts, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, and conducting investigations to resolve employee issues.
  • HR Policy and Development: Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs, reviewing and refining existing policies to ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance management process by coordinating performance appraisals, goal-setting, and feedback sessions, developing performance improvement plans, and implementing employee development programs.
  • Training and Development: Identify opportunities to maximize SEETA benefits, develop a strategy to implement, and work with the HR Officer to execute.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date on current Labour Law and ensure IOEC's compliance with all relevant laws, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Manage employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, incentives, and employee benefits enrollment, ensuring accurate payroll processing.
  • HR Reporting: Prepare HR reports and analytics on key HR metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • IR and Visas: Ensure timely resolution of employee disputes and represent the company at CCMA hearings, ensuring expat staff have the correct visas and assisting with documentation.
  • Employment Equity and BBEEE: Ensure IOEC's compliance with the EE Act and develop a strategy to present to the executive to achieve BBEEE compliance.
  • HR Intranet: Review and develop HR intranet areas, including internal advertising for open positions and newsfeed protocol.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in human resources management, organizational behavior, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role, with a track record of successful HR management (5-8 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of labour legislation, particularly employment contracts, employee leaves, and insurance.
  • Empathetic and caring nature with excellent people skills.
  • Conflict management skills.

Salary: Market-related and dependent on experience.
