Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

SKG Properties is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Develop project budgets, forecast costs, and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and update budgets as necessary during construction.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents and manage the tendering process.
  • Assess, evaluate, and negotiate tenders from contractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare and review contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are aligned with project objectives.
  • Manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review, analyze, and negotiate change orders and variations with contractors and clients.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare claims for time extensions, additional payments, or any disputes that may arise.
  • Implement effective cost control mechanisms to monitor actual project costs against budget.
  • Produce regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project expenditures and analyze deviations from the budget.
  • Identify potential risks, assess impacts, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Implement strategies to minimize cost overruns and maximize financial performance.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual and financial matters to senior management and clients.
  • Conduct meetings with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project progress aligns with cost expectations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
  • Ensure the team is aligned with project goals and contribute to their professional development.
  • Ensure that all processes adhere to local building regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain detailed records of project costs, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements:
  • BSC degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimating, or a similar role within the construction industry.
Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
