What will you do?

An exciting opportunity exists for an Internal Audit Coordinator to take on a pivotal role within the Group Internal Audit team, reporting directly to the Senior Audit Manager for IT & Projects.

The Group Internal Audit serves as a vital governance and control function for the Santam Group. The daily operations of a contemporary internal audit department, including that of Santam GIA, necessitate operational support to fulfill its annual assurance plan and achieve its objectives.

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the audit team in establishing and maintaining essential tools such as audit management software, associated IT infrastructure, audit methodologies, technical change management, and upgrades, as well as testing and implementing new related software. The incumbent will also act as the Audit Quality Assurance Specialist and champion for audit issue tracking.

The value this role brings includes enhancing the quality of the audit function, adhering to international internal audit standards, and ultimately allowing the GIA core team to concentrate on their assurance responsibilities rather than back-office demands.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Lead the current audit issues tracking solution.
  • Implement a new audit issue tracking solution.
  • Provide TeamMate support to the broader GIA team, including file creation, user access administration, TeamMate UAT testing, and TeamMate upgrades when applicable.
  • Conduct Year-End Analysis promptly, performing periodic checks on the status of TeamMate files for year-end analysis readiness and providing feedback to the management team. Create a new year-end analysis process to align with CAE expectations and deliver year-end analysis data for Audit Committee reporting.
  • Execute Quality Assurance on TeamMate files for the GIA Team (QAIP).
  • Align GIA Methodology to TeamMate by updating the methodology, creating new TeamMate templates (Assurance and Consulting), and updating the TeamMate library to match the current risk taxonomy.
  • Identify and leverage new TeamMate functionalities to support GIA initiatives, including automation and generating reports.
  • Refresh and renew GIA internal processes, ensuring a reliable and trustworthy TeamMate environment through training setup and liaising with the TeamMate service provider.
  • Maintain compliance with Santam policies and IIA standards affecting TeamMate, ensuring sound data integrity and streamlining the TeamTEC timesheet logging process.

Qualification and Experience

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Commerce, Internal Audit, or Information Systems.
  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years of work-related experience.
