An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Audit Coordinator to take on a pivotal role within the Group Internal Audit division, reporting directly to the Senior Audit Manager for IT & Projects.
The Group Internal Audit function is crucial for governance and control within the Santam Group. The operational support provided is essential for executing the annual assurance plan and achieving strategic objectives.
The primary purpose of this role is to assist the audit team in establishing and maintaining vital tools, including audit management software, IT infrastructure, audit methodologies, and technical change management. The incumbent will also act as the Audit Quality Assurance Specialist and lead the audit issue tracking initiatives.
The value added by this position includes enhancing the quality of the audit function, ensuring compliance with international internal audit standards, and allowing the core GIA team to concentrate on their assurance responsibilities rather than administrative tasks.
Success Factors:
Lead the current audit issue tracking solution. Implement a new audit issue tracking system. Provide TeamMate support to the broader GIA team, including file creation, user access management, UAT testing, and upgrade facilitation. Conduct timely Year-End Analysis, ensuring readiness of TeamMate files and delivering comprehensive reports to management. Perform Quality Assurance on TeamMate files for the GIA Team (QAIP). Align GIA methodologies with TeamMate, including configuration updates and the creation of new templates. Identify and leverage new functionalities within TeamMate to support GIA initiatives, enhancing efficiency through automation and effective reporting. Support the GIA team in maintaining a reliable TeamMate environment, including training, liaising with service providers, and ensuring compliance with Santam policies and IIA standards.Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant Diploma or Degree in Commerce, Internal Audit, or Information Systems. A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.Required Skills:
Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills. Strong client service orientation. Ability to perform under pressure. Effective time management skills. Experience with TeamMate software. Familiarity with electronic audit working papers.Core Competencies:
