Job Description:
VENCORP PLACEMENTS seeks a highly skilled and experienced Obstetrics Department Manager to lead our maternity unit.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and maintaining infection control strategies and procedures of the hospital.
- They will also manage stock control, maintain health and safety principles, and apply required discipline.
- Additionally, they will evaluate, intervene, and resolve patient complaints and queries, as well as prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will hold registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and possess a Post Basic Diploma or relevant qualifications as an Advanced Midwife and Neonatal Science.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Maternity/Obstetrics Unit & NICU is required, along with previous experience in a similar Unit Manager position.
- A proven Labour Ward experience and excellent Leadership qualities, mentoring skills, communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
