Sea Logistics Sales and Business Development Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sea Logistics Sales Representative to join our team in Johannesburg. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your sales skills and expand your knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.
About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for acquiring, winning, and retaining new customers. You will work closely with key stakeholders to maximize business opportunities and achieve agreed-upon goals.
As a Sea Logistics Sales Representative, you will spend most of your time engaging with customers, hunting for new business, and collaborating with the Customer Care Personnel on customer-facing activities.
You will take pricing decisions in alignment with the Customer Care Manager and following Trade Management/Pricing recommendations. You will also be responsible for account ownership, personally owning an account portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Generate new business opportunities in Sea Logistics with a focus on SMEs and maintain existing customer relationships.
- Take pricing decisions in alignment with the Customer Care Managers.
- Prepare quotations using our online tools and submit proposals to customers.
- Develop expert market knowledge and demonstrate superior Sea Logistics products.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and products.
- Report customer complaints to the Customer Care Team.
- Build relationships internally with other departments, including Customer Care, Route Development, and Pricing teams.
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a similar discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a focus on sea logistics sales.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English language is mandatory.
- Strong commercial skills.
- Strong customer focus and sensitivity towards stakeholder relationships.

Estimated salary: R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience.
