KYC Client Onboarding Specialist Role

As a key member of our Middle Office / Investment Operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding process of new clients, focusing on client data management, AML/KYC compliance, and tax identification across various products and platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in onboarding new clients and investors across local and cross-jurisdictional structures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of CDD/AML procedures and ensure high-risk matters receive appropriate attention.
  • Apply a risk-based approach when reviewing due diligence.
  • Ensure timely execution of day-to-day onboarding tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to manage the onboarding process effectively.
  • Keep records updated and accurate, and manage the collection of due diligence and tax information to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain FICA and KYC records on DocFox, and prepare procedure documentation.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and requirements regarding KYC compliance.
  • Actively seek to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce risks in the onboarding processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably within the finance sector (Fund Services/Asset Management/Collective Investments).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of the regulations guiding the financial services industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word, along with familiarity with screening software.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Matric is required, with a University Degree in Finance/Commerce preferred.
  • Excel Skills: Demonstrated strong proficiency in Excel is essential.
