About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and SARS regulations. You will be responsible for calculating and accurately completing tax returns, providing advice on taxation matters, and dealing with client queries regarding bookkeeping, tax, income distributions, and other matters.

You will also be expected to keep up-to-date with changing tax laws and train team members on tax compliance requirements. In addition, you will correspond with SARS on various matters including objections and appeals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and accurately complete tax returns and provide advice on taxation matters
  • Assist with tax returns, financial and accounting reports, and drafting working papers
  • Deal with client queries regarding bookkeeping, tax, income distributions, and other matters
  • Manage the administration of income, provisional, and value-added tax
  • Correspond with SARS on various matters including objections and appeals
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification with at least 5 years of practical tax and accounting experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and SARS regulations
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Proficiency with computer software including Draftworx, Sage Accounting, and Xero Accounting
Estimate Salary Range: R600,000 - R800,000 per annum
