Administrative Officer

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to join our team in Gauteng. As an Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our operations.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support to the team
- Relieve cashiers and COD clerks as needed
- Answer phone calls and perform switchboard duties
- Process cash on delivery invoices and bank deposits
- Take customer deposits and ensure timely banking according to company policy
- Receiving cash for debtor accounts payments and ensuring timely banking
- Print daily reports of outstanding CODs and investigate discrepancies
- Process sundry creditor invoices
- Filing of invoices and other documents daily
The key performance indicators for this role include:
- Gaining a full understanding of creditor processing, including verification of creditor-related documents
- Authorization of invoices
- Identification of errors and unusual items
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing a portfolio of branches' suppliers paid by Head Office, which will involve:
- Handling branch/supplier queries and requests
- Following up on invoices/statements not received
- Administrative tasks
- Preparing monthly sustainability reports
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Matric with Accounting & Mathematics (passes on higher grade)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Organized, accurate, and professional
- Good with numbers and calculations
- Some basic admin skills
- Will to work in a team and independently
- Able to learn quickly and communicate effectively
- Honest and trustworthy, able to handle large amounts of cash daily
