Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer will be a critical player in driving the evolution of the business information systems and steering the design and implementation of enhanced and secure technologies across all business lines in this complex and diverse business, which is anticipated to grow substantially in the next few years.
This executive will serve as a key member of the senior management team and will contribute broadly to developing the organisation’s business information and information technology strategy across all aspects of the business in the financial aspects, as well as the operating data management aspects, ensuring the compatibility and seamless integration of the various systems.
This will include both building needed staff and technical capability and processes in anticipation of growth, as well as active strategic oversight of all aspects of the IT aspects of the business, to ensure that the business is able to make the best use of available technologies and data to grow the business.
Ideally the individual will be a South African, who is willing to live and work in the Stellenbosch/Franshoek/Paarl winelands area.
- The Chief Information Officer (CMO) is responsible for the strategic development, management, compatibility, performance and security of all aspects of the company’s IT and data systems for the overall business including the farming, hospitality, retail and property divisions. The new incumbent will have experience leading areas of growth and capability improvement for the Estate in a hands-on and operationally oriented manner. _

The CIO should have in-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes, IT strategies, a_ _highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving _skills, outstanding_ _communication and presentation skills, good understanding of modern data management and information system technologies. Strong _leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders, be decisive about the way she/he creates strategy and have a track record of making difficult decisions._
**IDEAL EXPERIENCE**
10+ years’ experience in a information technology leadership role
Ideally as a CIO of a standalone / independent company or division within services, retail, farming or hospitality-oriented industry, a combination would be a distinct advantage
A good balance of strategic and operational IT management experience
A proven track record as a hands-on IT executive, with a proven track record of successful implementation of new and upgraded systems development with deep familiarity with all aspects of IT management and strategy for a high growth complex business.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's or B Comm Hons degree in computer science, information systems, analytics or relevant field
