Casual Hotel Operations Assistant

We are recruiting for a Casual contract for 6 months with the option to become permanent depending on how busy the establishment becomes. Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, the successful incumbent will be required to provide professional and excellent guest service. You will support the front office operations requirements and all related areas as required. Maintaining the exceptional guest service standards expected in accordance with Policies and Procedures. This position requires someone who will work in various departments across the board of our hospitality department and would include Housekeeping, Front of house, reception duties at our hotel, and Event coordination within our events.
**Responsibilities**:
- Check guests in and make sure they are settled.
- Explain any intricacies relating to the operation of the house and surrounding area.
- Reconfirm activities booked throughout their stay.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, file management, and general office tasks.
- Assist with ensuring standards of cleanliness and hygiene are consistently maintained at a high standard in the bedrooms, corridors, and public areas of the hotel and deliver a professional service.
- This position requires someone who will work in various departments across the board of our hospitality department and would include Housekeeping, Front of house, reception duties at our hotel, and Event coordination within our events.
- Must be customer service orientated and will need to oversee cleaning staff.
- Plan the next day or week ahead, scheduling cleaners according to guests checking in and out.
- Be there on departure to process any outstanding balances, greet guests farewell and make sure the house is locked and secure.
- Report any maintenance issues through the correct channels, and follow up to make sure it is actioned.
- Sorting dirty linen, and scheduling collection. Sorting clean linen when it's returned.
- Restocking of villas before and after departure
- Creative - with flower decoration and festive additive ideas throughout the year.
- Casual contract for 6 months at a time, option to become permanent depending on how busy the establishment becomes.
- .Must have previous relevant experience in hospitality.
- Being hard-working and a team player is of great importance.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written are required).
- Great telephone etiquette is required.
- Must be resident in or near Stellenbosch and have own transport - Must be able to work Weekends, evening shifts and public holidays.
- Friendly personality and professional presentable appearance.
- Be proactive and able to multitask - ability to plan and organize.
- Must be reliable and have an eye for detail.
- A Driving licence is required for this position.
**Please note that you will not be considered if you do not have your own vehicle and licence. You need to reside in the area or close to Stellenbosch.
