**Athlete Services Coordinator (M/F/d)**
**Job Summary**
Working as part of an expanding Athlete Services team in our Cape Town office and reporting to the
Athlete Services Manager, the Athlete Services Coordinator will be tasked with delivery of athlete
related offerings to participants, sponsors, and local stakeholders for events such as the Absa Cape Epic
and FNB Wines2Whales. The Athlete Services team will be involved in managing and administrating
all services for the events within our portfolio, including but not limited to athlete communications,
athlete databases, pre-event planning with the overall athlete experience as a key pillar.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work as part of the core Athlete Services team across a portfolio of events (currently Absa Cape

Epic and FNB Wines2Whales) and give constructive input into team calls and team initiatives
e.g., office meetings, off-site department meetings & Microsoft Teams meetings.
- Ensure optimal and timeous delivery of all athletes related services and offerings to global

standards.
- Plan and engage with all divisions (logistics, race operations, sponsorship, finance, and

marketing) to assist with relevant race information and delivery.
- Management of key division suppliers, contractors, or stakeholders to ensure service delivery

is up to expected global standards.
- Document all systems and procedures to develop ‘best practice’ manuals.
- Monitor deliverables per project plans and provide regular project status feedback to the
- Athlete Services Manager.- Prepare and assist with budgets for athletes and race services portfolios.
- Conceptualisation, refinement, planning and execution of race/athlete services and key

responsibilities which may include, but are not limited to:

- Entry management and platform administration (including Loyalty Programme).
- Athlete communications.
- Event activations (e.g., pre-, and post-event rider functions, Registration Day, Race Office).
- Manage suppliers and partners to deliver various athlete services and activations.
- Procurement of production items.

**Skills and competencies**
- A valid South African driver’s license.
- Excellent written and verbal command of the English language. Additional foreign languages
- are a plus.- Self-motivated and outgoing, comfortable working as part of a dynamic, goal orientated team
- in a fast-paced industry and always contributing to a positive work environment.- Strong administrative skills and high attention to detail. While the role requires ‘hands on’

work at event, meticulous planning and documenting thereof is required as the job is primarily
desk bound.
- Strong customer service mindset and passionate about service delivery, with a calm, friendly

and positive demeanour.
- The ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy. Good

time management is important.
- Strong people skills and the ability to interact at all organizational levels, with business acumen

and insight and with a focus on client service.
- Trouble-shooter who can think on their feet and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves.
- Excellent event, project, and budget management skills.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
- A general knowledge and understanding of the Absa Cape Epic and FNB Wines2Whales as

well as its participants are beneficial.
