The Cape Town Stadium municipal entity seeks to recruit a highly skilled, purpose driven and innovative leader for the management of the Cape Town Stadium. This is a public visible role that demands high responsibility, ethical conduct, accountability, a commitment to service excellence and is customer focused. Strategic ability, sound financial and commercial acumen, an innovative, influential and collaborative approach are fundamental as is the knowledge and understanding of all applicable legislation (the Companies Act, Systems Act, SASRIA Act and the MFMA).

**Purpose/Strategic Intent**:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading the development and execution of the organisation’s long term strategy, delivering shareholder value. The CEO’s leadership role requires being ultimately accountable for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the organisation’s long
- and short-term plans. The CEO is the public face of the organisation and communicates on behalf of the organisation to shareholders, employees, government authorities, other stakeholders and the public, and builds domestic and international relationships. The role provides direct oversight on strategic and joint ventures for the Cape Town Stadium.

**Key performance areas**:
Develop, manage and implement an innovative growth strategy for the CTS and precinct areas in collaboration with the leadership team
Develop and implement strategic business plans and policies to support the strategic objectives /priorities and ensure decision making and performance accountability
Provide leadership and direction to the management team of the organisation and empower leaders to deliver on the strategy of the organisation and lead by example
Ensure that the CTS acts within its powers and that its policies reflect legislative requirements, national policies and local government requirements
Understand international best practice for stadium and events management
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Lead and participate in stakeholder consultation and communication sessions.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
Direct and control the budgets and financial management systems within the entity by leading the entity’s financial planning and budgeting processes in line with the corporate principles
Direct the integration of projects, systems and processes across internal functional divisions through comprehensive project management and monitoring and evaluation of methodologies
Ensuring the implementation of an asset maintenance and preservation strategy and its related technological needs
Ensure that risks are effectively managed and that management assessments and techniques are applied that contributes to an integrated approach to risk management within the entity.
Communicate to the board on the performance of the organisation
Execute decisions of the Board

**Requirements**:
A tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in a relevant field
A minimum of 8 - 10 years’ experience at a senior manager level in a major event hosting and commercial rights environment.
Demonstrate capacity to lead and manage a multi-functional team including company support, commercial, finance, technical, venue and event operations at a senior management level
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, demonstrating the ability to develop and drive business objectives successfully
Ability to manage complex negotiations, demonstrating innovative and a collaborative approach to securing and delivering on business objectives
Senior management experience in upward reporting to board sub committees, board of directors, shareholders and/or top management structures
