**National Sales Manager - Hardware/Building/Tools**
Our Client is a a leading wholesale distributor of tools and hardware.
As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to increase market share and expand their customer base nationally and in neighbouring countries. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key retail store accounts, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage and increase a team of sales representatives, providing guidance, training, support and mentoring as needed
- Provide ongoing training and support to the sales team to enhance their product knowledge and sales skills
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share and footprint
- Oversee a Key Accounts Manager, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with retail store accounts
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
- Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate untapped segments
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Analyse sales reports and prepare forecasts for management review
- Analyse sales data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with procurement teams to develop and execute effective sales and marketing campaigns for existing excess stock.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market developments
- Attend trade shows and industry events to network and generate leads
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager in tools and hardware sales, or any other related industry
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with retail store accounts
- Proven track record of successfully achieving sales targets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Valid driver's license and willingness, ability to travel as needed. Please note that during the first two years there will be extensive travel as the successful applicant builds up a team of Sales Reps across the country.
**Salary**: From R50 000,00 per month
