As a Junior Salesperson at Traderoot Africa, a leading Fintech company, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dynamic sales team to drive revenue growth across the African continent. Your primary responsibility is to assist in the sales process by generating leads, reaching out to small customers in the Fintech sector upselling and cross-selling Traderoot products and solutions. The role includes sales administration and assisting with smaller revenue growth initiatives in line with Traderoot’s sales strategy. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to learn the intricacies of Fintech sales and obtain a basic understanding of the market dynamics in Africa.

**Primary responsibilities**
- **Sales support**

Assist senior sales team members with identifying and prospecting for potential new clients.

Collaborate with team members to prepare sales presentations, proposals and contracts.

Attend sales meetings and client presentations to observe and learn effective sales techniques.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and sales activities.
- **Market research**

Conduct research to understand the Fintech industry, market trends and competitors and identify potential clients in the African Fintech sector.

Identify emerging market opportunities and potential niches for Traderoot Africa products and services.

Analyse and report on market data to help refine sales strategies.

Maintain and regularly update the Customer Relationship Management(CRM) system with relevant data.
- **Client engagement**

Develop relationships with existing clients and partners to understand their needs and gather feedback.

Assist in responding to client enquiries and addressing their concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Support the process of taking on new clients and ensuring a smooth transition.

Assist in co-ordinating client meetings, demonstrations, conferences and industry events.

**Sales process**

Actively participate in entire sales process from lead generation to deal closure.

Support in negotiating and closing smaller deals under the guidance of the senior team members.

Cross-sell and upsell smaller opportunities for the Product, Delivery and Traderoot Africa Managed Service departments.

Assist in tracking and reporting on sales performance metrics.

Assist in growing the sales pipeline.
- **Product knowledge**

Gain a deep understanding of Traderoot Africa’s payment products and services.

Keep abreast of product updates and enhancements.

Effectively communicate the value proposition of Traderoot’s offerings to clients.
- **Collaboration**

Collaborate with other Traderoot departments, including the Marketing, Product Development and Project Management departments to ensure seamless service delivery is provided to the customers in Africa.

Assist in co-ordinating internal resources to meet client expectations and project timelines.
- **Training and development**

Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.

Seek mentorship from senior sales team members to accelerate learning curve.

Proactively seek feedback and demonstrate a commitment to continued improvement.
- **Sales administration**

Assist in maintaining sales databases and systems for tracking leads, opportunities and client interactions.

Assist with generating regular reports and analyses to support decision-making.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**

Number of potential clients identified and passed to senior sales team members

Quality and timeliness of sales presentations, proposals and contracts

Number of sales meetings and client presentations attended and actively participated in

Timely and accurate completion of sales activity records and reports of client interactions

Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Fintech industry, market trends, competitors and potential clients in the African Fintech sector

Number of emerging market opportunities and potential niches identified for Traderoot Africa products and services

Analysis and reporting on market data, providing insights to refine commercial strategies

Tracking of data updates on CRM system

Client satisfaction ratings for engagement and business development activities

Responsiveness and level of professionalism in handling client enquiries and issues

Efficiency and smoothness of client enrolment process

Monitoring and tracking of client meetings, demonstrations, conferences and industry events

**Involvement in sales process**

Number of leads generated and closed

Conversion rate of small deals closed, under the guidance of the senior team members

Tracking and reporting of sales performance metrics

Increase in the number of leads and opportunities listed in the sales pipeline
