Provide advice and guidance on individual employee misconduct / poor performance cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of best practice and are in accordance with relevant employment legislation
Co-ordinate and facilitate the counselling session and/or disciplinary enquiry within the existing HR framework
Lead the counselling session, ensuring that all follow-up sessions take place at the agreed times
Offering assistance and support at the request of management and staff as and when required
Ensure that probationary evaluations and exit interviews are conducted timeously
Work closely with Directors / Managers, providing guidance and support on the full range of HR
activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, performance management, retrenchments and the like), in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management throughout the firm
Keep up to date with legal developments in labour legislation and advise management on compliance and risk factors
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the firm and ensuring that policies and procedures are comprehensive and up-to-date
Ensure that Directors / Managers are aware of the policies and procedures and are able to implement them effectively
Accurate reporting and/or escalation to HR Executive and Senior HR Business Partner on issues arising in the workplace
Performance Enhancement Discussions (PED’s)
Monitor and review the performance appraisal process, ensuring that annual appraisals are carried out in a timely manner and followed up
Conduct and facilitate the PED process and provide meaningful input in regard thereto
Escalate any issues that are raised during the PED process to the HR Executive or Senior HRBusiness Partner
Management Information (MI) and Analytics
Manage the existing HR system, liaising with key stakeholders/providers as required
Engage with the HR team to redefine the delivery requirements, ensuring a world class service
Ensure the data integrity of all data in the HR system and take the appropriate steps to ensurethat all data is stored on the system and is accessible
Conduct audits of the HR system, to ensure data integrity on the HR system
Review the existing HR required reports and create a new reports library on the HR shareddrive system in consultation with the HR team
Review and assess the firm-wide metrics in place and develop as required
Provide support in creating more complex reports as required
Work with Finance, IT and external vendors to scope improvements to the existing flow of databetween the systems
General administration
Implement and maintain spreadsheets and other reporting mechanisms which contain meaningful data
Ensure that deadlines are met with regards to submitting weekly reports
Take accountability for the achievement of operational and strategic objectives within theirfocus area
Maintain personal quality of work and productivity standards
Respond openly and positively to constructive feedback received
Relevant degree/post-graduate qualification is required
Must have a passion for Human Resources
