**Reinsurance Broking Executive Manager**

We have a new Reinsurance Broking project Management role for a new entity conducting business both in SA and abroad. This role is at CEO Level for the Reinsurance broking

Division of our Financial Services operation with offices in Johannesburg. Our areas of business include Treaty Reinsurance, Facultative Reinsurance, Captives, Risk Financing and

Alternative Risk Transfer, pools, risk advisory and other Insurance Technical and project management activities.

**What the job entails**
- Opportunity to grow a new team to deliver on strategy.
- Develop network of Facultative insurers and Underwriting Management Agencies to supply the entity with Insurance Business.
- The job requires networking and sourcing of business locally and across international borders.

**Responsibilities**
- Drive project setup and startup including launch and initial relationship building in different countries across Africa and globally
- Play executive management role of the entire reinsurance broking operation building and leading a teams and functions in the following roles o **New Business Development**
- Business development in different income channels including

Reinsurance Broking, Risk and Reinsurance Advisory, Insurance project development, portfolio management,
- Develop and participate in new/renewal/prospective presentations to clients and reinsurers
- Produce new clients and design programs for them, establish relationships through meetings, exhibit professional skills, and entertain in order to generate revenue o **Project Management and Advisory**
- Oversee the timely production of appropriate tasks and assignments for client projects and placement process
- Own the issue whether it be originated by client, reinsurer, or internal service and coordinate response
- Liaise with applicable FACHS business partners to ensure the proper level of client service and timely flow of business process
- Monitor the follow-up on negotiations and contract documentation, ensuring the timely flow of materials.
- Analysing risks and assisting with developing solutions for clients’ needs.
- Responding to client requests, queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly in order to maintain client satisfaction
- Product Development, Process review and strategic advice in underwriting and claims management for clients
- Risk Financing and Alternative risk transfer advice o **Business Retention**
- Design new programs for clients needs, placing business with client
- approved reinsurers
- Respond to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, clients, and colleagues o **Budget**
- Manage expenses, time, services, etc. in order to maximize FACHS

Reinsurance profit margins.
- Build and drive different income channels in reinsurance broking as well as consulting and advisory business o **Best Practice Procedures and Compliance Policies**
- Appreciate document and implement Domiscile laws and regulations to ensure compliance in any insurance market that the Entinty establishes operations in.
- Understand all best practice procedures and compliance policies. When new procedures are provided, understand and adopt new procedures as rolled out, take required training and speak up with any questions or concerns uncovered in your role at FACHS
- Follow all best practice procedures and compliance requirements, and ensure placement documentation is complete to eliminate any potential errors and omissions. o **Business Knowledge**
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of reinsurer capabilities (ratings, regulatory environments, product lines, capacity, approvals, etc), through market research and intelligence
- Maintain constant knowledge of market trends, regulatory trends, emerging risks, economic evolutions to ensure efficient business decisions and relevant advice and service for clients
- Maintain knowledge of partner business trends to manage counterparty risk and ensure appropriate relationships

Expectations including Knowledge and skills (general and technical):

- Executive management Experience in managing an international Financial Services operation
- Risk Management, Risk Financing, Insurance and Reinsurance management expertise including aspects of solvency, modelling, risk analysis and risk advisory
- Thorough knowledge of insurance and reinsurance market practice, regulation, concepts and terms for developing and placing reinsurance programs, preparing placement slips and cover notes, and drafting or amending new and existing contracts.
