The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the preparation and accurate processing of weekly and monthly wages.

They are responsible for the maintenance of employee data, benefits administration by following payroll policies and processes.

This role reports into the Payroll Specialist.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS**

**Payroll Processing**:

- Preparation and processing of weekly and monthly wage payrolls independently
- Maintenance and updating payroll and employee information on the SAGE 300 People Payroll system.
- Preparation and the reconciliation of Month end third party payments
- Processing of payments and exit documents of employees exiting the business (Dismissals, retirements, resignations, and death)
- Processing of annual wage increases
- Maintenance of employees on the T &A system - enrolment/shift changes/dept changes, etc
- Liaising with managers and staff on payroll-related queries and concerns from employees and resolving any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner.
- Co-ordination of Bonus provision process
- Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits related to payroll processes, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
- To maintain employee files to ensure they are updated with all the relevant information.
- **Continuous **Improvement**: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the payroll function.

**Benefits Administration**
- Ensure the Benefits administration (Provident fund, funeral benefits, disability) is processed accurately for the weekly and monthly wages employees.
- Ensure that all the relevant documentation is completed and obtained for accurate processing.
- Attend death claim meetings quarterly.
- Receive and distribute provident fund statements to employees.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- 3-5 years Payroll working experience.
- Previous work experience with the Biometrics system is advantageous.
- Previous experience working on Sage 300 People system.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office
- Strong Excel skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with people on all levels.
- Good time management skills
- Must have a strong work ethic and integrity.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

**EXPECTATIONS**

To be successful in this role, the payroll administrator must have excellent time-management skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple projects and manage a demanding workload in a pressurized environment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Matric with Math is essential.
- Relevant Human Resources or related tertiary qualification is an added advantage.
