**Job Description Summary**: BD is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) portfolio for the South and Southern Africa region.

As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anesthesia and closed medication management.
**About the role**:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the MDS South Africa sales team to deliver key business objectives in the medical space and translating them into business opportunities. The individual must work collaboratively with the customers, KOL’s and internal stakeholders to understand customer needs and build and develop customer solutions and take responsibility for converting these key opportunities into growth.
**Main responsibilities will include**:
- Effectively lead the sales team, responsible for the MDS business in South Africa
- Identify potential opportunities by researching market and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Co travel, work and coach the sales team to develop customer-based strategies including career development, incentives, operational KPI’s.
- Develop relationships with key customers and decision makers in both the Private and State sectors
- Work with the extended marketing team to ensure that the selling and tactical plans are aligned with the marketing strategies for the region including product launches.
- Plan and organize selling activities in collaboration with the sales team focusing on procurement, supply chain, and other commercial related persons.
- Using the ‘BD Way of Selling’ guidelines, work with the sales team to ensure adherence to the concept as well as developing selling skills within the team. This includes working on Sales Force.
- Develop and maintain a clear understanding of current market, vision of expected market evolution and implications on customer needs.
- Support and expand BD portfolio in current customer accounts and be the first point of contact for customer queries relating to sales activity and service.
- Support & execute on all operational activities including stock, back orders, pricing, customer queries, customer service, deliveries etc.
**About you**:
- Business degree preferred
- Ideally possesses over 4 years of experience in sales and business management, with a minimum of 2 years handling full profit and loss responsibilities.
- Shows capability in overseeing, organizing, and motivating teams. Recognizes organizational challenges and applies sensible approaches with the support of others to achieve goals.
- Establishes and upholds solid relationship with healthcare experts and organizations.
- Capable of managing several responsibilities and setting priorities efficiently.
- Exhibits robust analytical abilities to meet operational performance indicators.
