WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The General Manager: Sales is responsible to develop and implement Strategic Sales vision align to the Company objectives. The incumbent is responsible to align overall Company Sales objectives into functional objectives. To structure and lead the Sales team with the objective of achieving year on year order intake and sales targets, expanding the customer base and sustaining long term business growth.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**Strategic Leadership**:

- Participate and contribute towards the formulation of the strategic business imperatives of the Company as a member of the Executive Team inclusive of the Managing Directors and General Managers.

**Market Penetration**:

- Ensure continuous expansion of the Company sales/business footprint worldwide.
- Implement sales structures that will ensure expanded worldwide market presence inclusive of the development of country strategies.
- Responsible for the structure, appointment and development of a professional world class Sales team.
- Establishment of an interactive business process with Corporate entities worldwide in order to further develop market and sales opportunities.

**Order intake**:

- Single point of responsibility in the Company for the development of strategic order intake initiatives and three to five year forecasts.
- Responsible to ensure that order intake achieved as planned is achieved.

**Business Plan Management**:

- Implement and manage mitigation plans to address business risks.
- Be part of the integrated RDM business team responsible for the three-year business forecast of the Company with specific reference to the Sales and Order Intake forecasts.
- Provide support and information on market developments to ensure new product development.

**Operating Environment**:

- Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures in relation to
- Internal company business processes
- Government export regulations
- Offers to Customers
- Appointment of Consultants
- Continuous interaction with international clients and business partners to support ongoing business, foster business relationships and develop new relationships.
- Interact and liaise with Shareholders.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- B Degree / NQF 7 qualification or equivalent
- **At least 10 years’ experience in Sales**:

- Proven strategic business leader with a track record of concluding complex business transactions
- An entrepreneurial ability to see past the norm and focus on future Sales
- Proven track record of exposure and interaction with customers worldwide
- Knowledge of the Defence Industry and exposure to international business
