- We have an exciting position for a Specialist Technical Support and Integration. The role of the Specialist Technical Support and Integration is to support the Kumba’s Localised & Preferential Procurement Strategy across all departments for Sishen and Kolomela mine. The role will require setting direction for Localised Suppliers by developing a Supplier Development Plan with the objective to grow and evolve theses suppliers into trusted and competitive Suppliers within Kumba Supply Chain.

**Kumba Iron Ore**
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

**Job Description**:

- As Specialist Technical Support and Integration, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing key relationships on the operation with End Users, Supply Chain, Public Affairs, Strategic Suppliers, and community engagement is extremely important.
- Mentorship programme of strategic Supplier Managers must be developed and managed by the Technical Support and Integration Specialist with project schedules and clear milestones and deliverables.
- Participating in the tender adjudication process for selecting successful localized suppliers for strategic core mining contracts with a duration period of 3-5 years
- Work with the localized suppliers and assist in mobilization, establishment and demobilization
- Assist the localized suppliers with the access to and maintenance of all equipment necessary to carry out and planning the works
- Evaluate training requirements of the localized supplier ‘s personnel for the Works
- Attend key meetings and provide detailed progress reports of the Works and other reports as required
- The Specialist Technical and Integrations is accountable to ensure that the allocated Safety Officers effectively assist selected suppliers and give adequate progress updates.
- The day-to-day planning and scheduling support and operational performance of the localized suppliers
- Ongoing on the job coaching and mentoring of localized suppliers
- Assistance with performance management and ensuring compliance with the mine KPIs
- Develop and implement an escalation process relating to localized procurement issues at mine level
- Develop reports to monitor and track the development plan as well as supplier issues raised at mine level
- Develop a register of localized suppliers and ratings according to key performance areas
- Updated risk register and mitigating controls to address risks due to localization
- Co-represent the localized supplier at key mine meetings and forums, where the localized supplier ‘s performance is discussed and reviewed
- Provide feedback on progress, issues, risks related to localization to Public Affairs, GM of the Mine and Supply Chain

**This role is in the Safety and Sustainable development Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Contractor Management**
- Qualifications
- Relevant Degree in a suitable field

**Experience**:

- 7-10 experience in a similar role in the mining industry
- Sound financial acumen
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes related to Contractor Management
- Solid understanding of Mining industry and Mine Health and Safety Act
