We are seeking an experienced Programme & Content Manager to develop, curate, and drive all content resources at Jacaranda FM and its digital products to maximize reach, engagement, and audience loyalty.

Additionally, the role is responsible for maintaining a creative and productive environment that allows all staff and contractors the opportunity to do their best work. The Programme & Content Manager will ensure that content is generated, crafted, and promoted in ways that maximize commercial opportunities for the business while placing the audience first.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Contribute to the strategic management of the station**
- Develop and implement an effective programming strategy in line with station’s vision, goal and company strategy.
- Align the programming department to the radio station’s strategic plan.
- Proactively provide input to the overall strategic objectives of the station.
- Proactively participate in ideas generation, execution, initiatives and innovations for the future wellbeing of the company.

**Attend to the operational Management of the programming department**
- Ensure listenership growth including Week Cume, Average day, Time Spent Listening (TSL) and growth in designated strategic demographics.
- Effectively manage entire audio experience of the Jacaranda FM Radio brand.
- Draft monthly programming reports timeously.
- Effectively develop, execute and maintain programming standards and procedures.
- Manage and maintain a high standard of performance of the on-air product including;
- Regular air checks
- Regular on-air monitoring / quality control
- Constantly analyse and improve music rotations
- Continuously assess Music Selection, and related category management
- Effectively identify and implement actions in response to insights from research
- Effectively design, innovate and ensure flawless implementation of concepts for radio programming, marketing and sales
- Manage additional and adjacent content channels that comprise the overall content offering of Jacaranda FM, including; Online / Mobile content and other platforms / Production / News team / Audio, digital, and visual content for clients / Creation of high quality and relevant audio, digital and visual content for audiences.
- Effective collaboration in the development and management of the Jacaranda FM Web Strategy.
- Creation and implementation of programming and digital style guides for presenters.
- Encourage a healthy work culture and positive work ethic in the department.

**Manage the Jacaranda FM Regional Studios**
- Manage regional studios, content and onair staff and ensure regions operate expediently and in line with station brand.

**Ensure alignment with Marketing Department**
- Work constructively with the Marketing Manager and Management Team to ensure that all content strategies are optimally supported with relevant marketing activities.
- Ensure alignment between the Marketing and Programming strategies and activities in support of the Station Strategy, and; Ensure that all content supports the station’s Marketing objectives.

**Research**
- Analyse regular research to drive strategic decision making.

**Commercialisation**
- Liaise with Jacaranda FM Sales Team/Clients on high level promotion/campaigns to ensure optimisation of programming and client satisfaction.
- Creation of Products for Commercialisation in conjunction with relevant Stakeholders.
- Where necessary and relevant, attend and present at workshops, seminars, client visits or other interactions with station clients and stakeholders, to ensure that the Content and Commercial ambitions of the station are aligned and optimised.

**Implement Strategic leadership**
- Management of the entire programming team, including mentoring junior programming staff, general staff development, hiring key talent, identification and development of on-air talent pipeline, and managing all on-air talent.
- Uphold the standards of the management team and company.

**Adhere to Regulatory / compliance**
- Ensure that all regulatory and legislative matters are attended to.
- Compliance to all BBEEE, ICASA, BCCSA guidelines, and any other relevant Radio compliance.

**General**
- Execute any tasks that may reasonably be expected of a senior member of the station management team.
- Participate in the growth initiatives of the Kagiso Media Radio leadership team, as may be relevant or required.
- Promote and contribute to the development of the industry via participation in industry bodies and forums.
- Creation of and management of Programming Budget.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Educational Requirements**:

- National degree or equivalent qualification in Media/a Business related qualification.

**Experience Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar or equivalent environment at senior management level.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English (writing and speaking).
