Specialist Airline Partnerships

**Job Purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to support the Lead: Airline Partnerships in implementing the airline’s integrated airline partnerships strategy as well as to implementing partnership strategies that maximizes market reach, revenue, profitability and delivers value to the airline’s customers. The incumbent will be required to contribute to the optimisation the revenue and profitability of the airline’s code share and interline agreements in all markets.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
- Provide input into the design of the Airline Partnerships Strategy taking into account specialist expertise, best practice, benchmarking and market standards etc.
- Recommends policies, processes, action plans and systems to support implementation of the strategy
- Analyse cost drivers and provide recommendations on profitability of Network Planning, Scheduling, Aero-Political Affairs & Airline Partnerships
- Support the management and control of budget in area of responsibility
- Optimise technology to enhance internal and external customer expectations
- Implements processes to deliver customer value
- Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships through appropriate relationship building and networking
- Enforce Governance and Risk Management policies, processes and systems
- Deliver on regular and timeous reporting of information to key stakeholders
- Drive continuous optimisation programmes & initiatives
- Manages projects to contribute to the optimisation of Commercial
- Assists with the negotiation and implementation of code shares and other airline partnership agreements that are key to achieving the airline’s global partnership strategy
- Assist in the implementation of new code share agreements to ensure operations commence as planned
- Contribute in the development of strategies to mitigate any risks to the airline and manage any issues associated with the implementation or operation of partnerships / code shares
- Provide timely and accurate reports on code shares and partnerships to key internal stakeholders and participate in appropriate communication forums.
- Review policies and procedures and update as necessary to ensure required standards are maintained
- Ensure regular quality assurance exercises or audits are conducted across business units to measure compliance with policies, procedures and standards
- Liaise with industry specialists regarding market and industry trends to ensure flexibility of the business and partnership practices to meet changing industry and business trends
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics/ Business Management/Mathematics/Statistics or similar at NQF level 7 with 3-5 years’ experience in alliances and airline partnerships OR 5 -7 years’ experience in alliances and airline partnerships
- Functional route network experience
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Knowledge of alliances and how to leverage partners to drive revenue and profitability objectives
