**Introduction**
A dynamic and versatile mining producer of precious metals based in the Rustenburg are is looking for an Employee / Industrial Relations Specialist on a permanent basis**Purpose of the Role**
To Regulate the relationship between the management and employees, and with external institutions such as the CCMA. Promote and maintain communication between management, unions and employees. Provide advice and support to managers with regards to the labour relations**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work with the HR Manager and peers to deliver on overall objectives and priorities for the function and Operation
- Maintain effective working relationships with Operations Line Managers, peers, employee forums, unions, security department and colleagues from other Human Resources (HR) sub-functions to support (Operation's Human Resource Business Partner) integrated and compliant execution of Employee Relations (ER) activities in line with business requirements.
- Advise line managers on legal compliance with regards to Labour Relations Act (LRA) and all other relevant legislation.
- Ensure compliance to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and Employment Equity Act (EEA) to encourage and maintain harmonious industrial relations in the organisation.
- Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation Audit:
- Ensure that all ER reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
- Assist the Human Resource Business Partners with the arrangement and coordination of disciplinary and grievance hearings.
- Compile hearings and CCMA case documentation. Open and prepare CCMA case files. Attend to CCMA cases upon being allocated by the HR Manager.
- Ensure that all ER related matters are concluded within the reasonable time as per policies and procedures.
- Assist in the resolution of matters emanating from engagement forums.
- Prepare and conduct ER training and Induction sessions.
- Establish and maintain sound labour relations environment.
- Responsible for managing own work performance and completing tasks as per set timelines and standards.
- Maintain and manage healthy relationships within own team and across teams.
- Responsible to provide support to team within area of responsibility.
- Responsible to share knowledge and skills with co-workers.
- Responsible to use communication and feedback channels effectively
**Minimum experience & qualifications required**
- Degree in Employee Relations or equivalent qualification related to the position.
- Postgraduate qualification in ER will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in the HR field of which 3yrs was at an ER environment in the mining industry
- Knowledge of SA Labour Legislation
- Knowledge and experience of HR Information systems - an advantage
- Knowledge and understanding of the disciplinary procedures.
- Valid Driver's Licence
**Behavioural skills required**
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Sound planning, leading and organisational abilities
- Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite
- Identify discrepancies regarding the compliance to agreements
- Communicate effectively with employees and management with regards to labour legislation.
