Head of Sales and Operations

- Food Retailers, e.g. SPAR, Pick n Pay, Powerfashion, Woolworths),Petroleum Forecourt (Corporate and Franchise owned outlets across Engen, Shell, Total, BP, PUMA, Global and more), Independent / Informal Distribution (Moms & Pops/SPAZA), Store in store concepts, Stand-alone stores.
**JOB PURPOSE**
This role is responsible for overall implementation and execution of strategy and plans stemming across Formal Retail, Petroleum and Retail Independent segments as well as revenue generation through effective planning across these segments. The role is also responsible for the overarching direction of the regions as well as developing and driving the strategy for the Retail Independent segment revenue generation through effective planning, The role is also responsible for the overarching profitability of the mentioned segments including costs and base retention and acquisition.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Drive the Sales and Operations strategy planning and execution**
- Collaborating with the senior executive team to understand the overall business strategy and design and develop the strategy for the regions and Retail
- Independent segment which is linked to the overarching business strategy Lead and manage the regional teams in order to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed set goals
- Drive the forecasted and budgeting of the annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans to ensure the achievement of yearly goals
- Review financial statements relevant to the regions and the Retail Independent
- Segment, for sales, product penetration and availability and activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity and profitability
- Lead the Regional Managers to initiate and implement corrective actions as and where required
**Drive sales growth and performance**
- Manage successful regional teams and ensure that the teams consistently meet or exceed daily, monthly and yearly sales performance metrics
- Work with other function leads to create and maintain a world-class sales and operational culture, focused on delivering results by providing ongoing coaching and development of Regional Managers and other team members
- Consistently ensures that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behaviour aligns with our values
- Analyse performance metrics data and leverage it to effectively coach and develop the Regional and direct team members
- Effectively manage Sales Operations expenses to ensure delivery of internal gross margin goals
- Responsible for the development and implementation of new processes and procedures for effective and efficient team operations
- Direct or coordinate financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.
