- LLB, or Commerce degree
- Post Gradual Diploma in Compliance Management, NQF 7, essential
- C Prac, Compliance Practitioner or working towards designation essential
- FAIS RE 1 (Key Individual exam) essential, requirement for registration as FAIS Compliance Officer

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 8 years overall post degree financial services experience, preferably at a large corporate insurer or a bank, at least 2 years in a senior compliance specialist role at a group compliance level, essential
- Extensive experience working with and knowledge of financial services legislation for example LTIA, STIA, FAIS, FICA, CISCA, IA, FSRA, Prudential Standards etc. essential
- Functioning proactively and strategically with a holistic view on compliance issues impacting not a single entity but a group of companies, essential
- Expert knowledge of Compliance Risk Management Methodology, essential
- Knowledge of CURA, preferred
- Ability to write, communicate and interpret legislative requirement at the appropriate level, essential
- Ability to advise business on complex compliance matters, essential.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Key Accountabilities section is the foundation of the Job Profile. It conveys the complexity, scope, and level of responsibility of a job.
- Manage implementation of legislative changes
- Manage relationship with regulatory authorities under guidance
- Manage under guidance the compliance risk that consists of:

- Scanning the regulatory universe to identify and interpret compliance requirements
- Implementing compliance requirements into business processes
- Training compliance requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance requirements
- Reporting and managing compliance incidents.
- Manage compliance complaints.
- People and Culture
- Below each key accountability - describe each essential responsibility with a** Results Statement** - describing expectations for successful performance. They are the general statements of what the incumbent is intended to accomplish.
- **Manage implementation of legislative changes,** **by understanding the business impact of legislative changes, conducting workshops to drive the changes into the organisation, keeping a group perspective, registering a project with the Project Office and managing all risk associated with the implementation and appropriate report to PPS Boards.
- **Manage relationship with regulatory authorities under guidance, **by meeting and explaining to the regulators the unique nature of the PPS Group and that PPS operates on the ethos of mutuality. Leading PPS Group preparations for onsite inspections or information requests from the regulators, which include for example the PA, FSCA, NAMFISA, Competition Commission, BBBEE Commission and the FIC. Communicating with regulators clearly and timely especially when compliance issues have been identified. This will be done under the guidance of the Head of Compliance.
- **Manage under guidance the compliance risk**, by setting group standards and policies. The Group Compliance department sets the compliance standards for the PPS Group and then reviews the activities in the subsidiaries and where relevant affiliates compliance functions to ensure that they comply with the group standards, this is to ensure that a consolidated compliance risk management process and reporting exists across the PPS Group. This will be done under the guidance of the Head of Compliance.
