Senior Associate: Investments

**THE JOB AT A GLANCE**

As the Senior Associate: Investments & Corporate Finance, you will be participating in developing investment recommendations for portfolio manages relating to existing and potential investments, through developing and amending quantitative models to analyze and forecast market developments, estimating risks, identifying factors influencing investment decisions, and quantifying potential risks and rewards. RMA-specific Purpose: Reporting to the Group Executive: Investments and Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for providing sound operational support on various strategic initiatives and deals from origination to implementation. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis, market research, and managing due diligence processes on deals and asset managers whilst building and maintain relationships with various stakeholder in the process.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

**Investment Management**:

- Develop and amend investment models to provide input to senior colleagues and/or help manage assigned portfolios.
- Review performance of alternative investments / private equity investments
- Engage with Asset Consultants on Fixed income investments and facilitate all required engagements with Asset managers.

**Information and Business Advice**:
**Financial Management and Control**:

- Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.

**Risk Scenario Modeling**:
**Financial Modeling**:

- Provide financial modeling input into business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth in the business.
- Perform valuations based on accepted valuation methodology.

**Project management**
- Project manage all corporate finance activities and consultants.
- The investment and disinvestment processes with the various asset managers in conjunction with the Asset consultants.

**Data Collection and Analysis**:

- Conduct research using primary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.

**Recommendations**:

- Advise others on how to design new processes and systems that meet professional standards.

**Stakeholder Management**:

- Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?**
- Undergraduate Degree / Honours Tertiary Degree NQF Level 7: B. Com (Accounting, Marketing, Economics and Finance majors preferred)
- CA (SA) or near qualification (Advantageous) and strong academic results and professional competency preferred.
- Minimum 3 years Post articles experience within a professional investment banking/auditing environment
- Valuations and M&A experience (advantageous)
- Experience within an insurance environment (preferable)
- Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)
