**Job Description**:
**Purpose**

Aligned to wider functional transformation driving governance and risk management within the context of JSE Financial Reporting requirements and process standardisation.

The role is to support the Finance function in partnering with Anglo American Platinum and Kuma Iron Ore business units to deliver governance, risk and compliance management processes that:

- Drive the development of cross functional relationships and models to align risk stakeholders across the group.
- Manage ad-hoc and planned monitoring reviews to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of implemented financial controls.
- Assess the impact of control deficiencies on the control environment and JSE financial reporting disclosures.
- Provide BU management with support and input into the JSE financial attestations.
- Support teams in the identification, analysis and documentation of risks associated with delivery of financial objectives.
- Drive Finance teams in undertaking identified risk and control procedures and ensures follow up actions are completed in a timely manner
- Ensures that the Group risk and compliance framework and components are effectively implemented, applied and reported on.

**Testing and Compliance Monitoring**:

- Perform and coordinate the testing of finance controls
- Report to senior management on the outcome of control testing activities
- Review and approve changes to financial controls based on governance procedures
- Track and monitor specific agreed upon risk deliverables and milestones as per risk register.
- Perform ad-hoc and planned monitoring reviews (self-assessment) to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of implemented controls as per risk registers.
- Utilise system reports to identify potential control weaknesses on activity level (health check reports).
- Utilise systems to facilitate risk and compliance monitoring and risk improvement.
- Monitor remediation progress, escalate issues, intervene to progress remediation

**Governance Structure**:

- Establish relationships with key risk owners and management
- Report on status and drive group standardisation
- Align the roles and responsibilities of risk owners and senior management with the group

**Risk Assessment**:

- Conduct risk workshops to identify risks, address current gaps, prioritise risks, map to applicable risk owners and update the risk register (top down).
- Identify road blocks in remediation, supporting identification of remediation action owners
- Explore alternatives to major issues whilst meeting control objectives
- Facilitate risk management workshops to manage risks that may arise in processes
- Facilitate with BU line management to ensure that critical controls are identified and updated in risk registers (bottom up).
- Obtain information on current and emerging risks; assess impact; develop mitigating actions, support the implementation of mitigating actions

**Policies & Procedures**:

- Review & report against policy and procedure documents maintained by operational managers (review due dates; training and communication; lack of critical policy and procedure documents).

**Training & Communication**:

- Identify control owner training need
- Case Management, Investigation and coordination of Breach Reporting process:

- Support the development of controls and actions to mitigate risk identified by operational managers
- Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required.
- Assess if the identified controls are meeting/fulfilling the requirements of the business

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Report on implementation of proposed controls and actions identified during Case Management and Investigations.

**Reporting**:

- Develop report requirements (operational level and executive summary level).
- Provide reports / GRC dashboard to key stakeholders on quarterly basis.
- Prepare, discuss and submit the Headline Risk reports to relevant stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing/Finance/ Risk, compliance and governance law or equivale
