**LECTURER/ JUNIOR LECTURER: ACADEMIC AND COMPUTER LITERACY**

**COMPUTER LITERACY (POST)**

**Requirements**:
qualification must be willing to register and complete a teaching qualification such as the

Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education to be considered for the post. The

enrolment for the teaching qualification must occur within **ONE YEAR **of assuming duty.
- M.Sc Computer Science or Master’s in Education (MEd) (Computer Education) for a

lecturer or B.Sc Honours in Computer Science for a junior lecturer or a relevant equivalent

qualification
- At least three (3) years teaching experience for a lecturer or one (1) year teaching

experience for a junior lecturer.
- DHET accredited journal articles will be an added advantage.
- Ability to provide supervision to post graduate students.
- Strong leadership and good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in developing curricula especially in Academic and Computer Literacy.
- Have a valid driver’s licence.

**Competencies**:

- The applicant should be able to work as part of a team, and yet also take initiative in

research projects and contribute to the development of programmes offered in the
Department.

**Duties**:
The incumbent will be required to:

- Initiate and develop curriculum and course materials in Academic and Computer
- Literacy.
- Coordinate modules in Academic and Computer Literacy.
- Contribute towards the Department’s transformational and strategic goals.
- The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
- Conduct tutorials, demonstrations, workshops for students and staff.
- Participate in academic administration such as attendance at departmental, school and

/or faculty meetings.
- Consultation, supervision and teaching of students at postgraduate and undergraduate

level.
