**EDUCATION**
**ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER: TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION**
**Requirements**:
❖ A teaching qualification.
❖ A Doctorate (PhD) degree in Technology Education.
❖ At least five (5) years of teaching experience at a tertiary level.
❖ B.Ed. Honours in Electrical Technology will be an added advantage.
❖ Ability to provide supervision of doctoral, masters and honours students.
❖ A minimum of 5 SAPSE accredited journal articles for the position of Associate
Professor.
❖ Strong leadership and good communication and interpersonal skills
❖ Experience in developing curricula, especially in Technology Education.***
❖ Have a valid driver’s licence.
**Competencies**:
❖ The applicant should be able to work as part of a team, and yet also take
initiative in research projects and contribute to the development of programmes
offered in the Department.
**Duties**:
The incumbent will be required to:
❖ Initiate and develop curriculum and course materials in Technology Education
❖ Coordinate modules in Technology Education.
❖ Contribute towards the Department’s transformational and strategic goals.
❖ The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
❖ Conduct tutorials, demonstrations, workshops for students and staff.
❖ Participate in academic administration such as attendance at departmental,
school and /or faculty meetings.
❖ Consultation, supervision and teaching of students at postgraduate and
undergraduate level.
